Terms of
Service

These Terms govern your use of Sentinel. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully.

1. The Service

Sentinel is a SaaS AI content moderation platform. The Service includes a moderation API, webhook integrations with community platforms (Skool, Circle.so, Kajabi, Mighty Networks, and others via REST API), a customer dashboard, and an admin panel.

2. Accounts and eligibility

2.1 Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and have legal authority to enter into this agreement on behalf of yourself or your organisation.

2.2 Account security

You are responsible for keeping your API key and credentials secure. Do not share your API key publicly or commit it to version control. We are not liable for losses caused by unauthorised use of your credentials.

You may use Sentinel only to moderate content in communities and platforms you own or have authority to moderate. You must not:

4.1 Your content

You retain ownership of all content submitted for moderation. By submitting content you grant us a limited licence to process it solely to provide moderation decisions.

4.2 Your responsibility

You are responsible for ensuring you have appropriate legal basis to share community member content with us for processing. This includes any applicable GDPR, CCPA, or other privacy law requirements in your jurisdiction.

4.3 Data retention

Moderation logs are retained for 12 months. Upon account cancellation, data is retained for 30 days before permanent deletion.

We offer two levels of data participation:

Content-level analysis is never on by default and requires your explicit opt-in. You may withdraw consent at any time from your dashboard.

5. Moderation decisions

5.1 AI limitations

Our AI moderation is not perfect and may produce false positives or false negatives. We make no guarantee of 100% accuracy. You are responsible for how you act on moderation decisions.

5.2 Fail-open design

If the Service is unavailable or returns an error, content is approved rather than blocked. This prevents service outages from disrupting your community.

5.3 Appeals

We encourage you to implement an appeal mechanism so community members can challenge incorrect decisions. The appeal flow built into the Sentinel dashboard is provided for this purpose.

6. Payments and billing

6.1 Pricing

Current pricing is at getsentinelapp.com/#pricing. We may change pricing with 30 days' notice to existing customers.

6.2 Free trial

Paid plans include a 14-day free trial. Your card is not charged until the trial ends. Cancel before the trial ends with no charge.

6.3 Demo accounts

Demo accounts include 50 free checks and do not require a payment method. Demo accounts are for evaluation only and may not be used in production.

6.4 Refunds

We do not offer refunds for partial months. On cancellation, your plan remains active until the billing period ends.

6.5 Usage limits

Each plan includes a monthly check limit. When exceeded, the API returns a 429 response. We email you at 80% of your monthly limit.

7. Service availability

We target 99.5% uptime. Scale plan customers receive an SLA guarantee. Planned maintenance is communicated in advance where possible.

8. Intellectual property

The Service, including software, AI prompts, and rule categories, is owned by Sentinel. These Terms grant no rights to our intellectual property beyond what is necessary to use the Service.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account immediately for Terms violations, legal requirements, or unresolved payment failure after 7 days. You may cancel at any time from your dashboard or by emailing support@getsentinelapp.com.

10. Limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States.

12. Changes

We will notify you of material changes by email with 14 days' notice. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
